I would like to compare some of the data on the different ski resort locations.
Lets start with the most important thing for a day trip, distance:
Ski Resort | Miles from Seattle |
---|---|
Snoqualmie | 56 |
Stevens Pass | 78+ |
Mt. Rainier Crystal Mountain | 79+ |
Mt. Baker | 95+ |
White Pass | 117+ |
Mission Ridge | 165+ |
Mt. Hood | 249+ |
Mt. Bachelor | 353+ |
Lets compare the number of runs and mountain elevation:
Ski Resort | Number of Runs | Summit (in feet) |
---|---|---|
Mt. Hood Cooper Spur | 10 | 4,350 |
Snoqualmie East | 12+ | 3,710 |
Snoqualmie Central | 22 | 3,865 |
Alpental | 22 | 5,450 |
Snoqualmie West | 23 | 3,765 |
Mt. Hood Timberline | 31+ | 8,540 |
White Pass | 32 | 6,000 |
Mission Ridge | 36 | 6,820 |
Stevens Pass | 37 | 5,845 |
Mt. Baker | 38 | 5,050 |
Mt. Rainier Crystal Mountain | 50 | 7,012 |
Mt. Hood Ski Bowl | 65 | 5,027 |
Mt. Bachelor | 71 | 9,065 |
Mt. Hood Meadows | 85 | 7,300 |
I am less concerned with rental cost, because any good northwesterner (If you don't own equipment already!)
should know that they can rent through REI.
The lift ticket cost rises with the size of the resort.
